Intern on Reporting and Resources Mobilization

I have spent the last 8 weeks in Dakar working with the African Women’s Millennium Initiative on Poverty & Human Rights (AWOMI). As the Intern on Reporting and Resources Mobilization, my responsibilities at AWOMI were:

1. Use and enhance existing funding proposals
2. Edit and improve publications and reports in English and French
3. Help highlight and document results and lessons learned from AWOMI’s activities

On my first day at the office, I jumped right in and started editing AWOMI’s book on the Young Women Knowledge and Leadership Institute (YOWLI) which is a compilation of articles written by YOWLees from 2006 & 2008. It was an interesting project and I got to be inspired by the talented young women and men who contributed to the book.
