AWOMI - African Women's Millenium Inititative

AWOMI takes the general responsibility for the formulation, planning, execution and the follow-up of the activities, which it initiated. Therefore, AWOMI is solely responsible for the stock management that financial backers - The Flora Family Foundation, The Wallace Foundation, The Ford Foundation, The NEPAD Spanish Fund,  ELMA Philanthropies, The Nike Foundation, The Global Fund for Women - place at AWOMI’s disposal to carry out the activities envisaged and observes financial management rules and practical procedures to ensure adequate control of the provided resources.

The principal reports and financial documents which make the synthesis of the execution of the funds are as follows:

-    Annual work plan
-    Financial and narrative report to each funder
-    Annual report on the statement of expenditures
-    Annual report of AWOMI’s assets
-    AWOMI’s Annual Balance sheet for each funder
-    Annual bank balance sheet

Through this internal inspecting device, the backers will know that:
- the NGO set up a suitable system of management;
- the financial reports are complete and exact;
- the withdrawals carried out for purposes of the activities of AWOMI were in accordance with the descriptions and by the people entitled to utilize bank accounts opened for this purpose.
